Frequently Asked Questions

Yes — every Acting Camp instructor undergoes a full background check before working with students. All our teaching staff are experienced working actors who are vetted, insured, and trained in child-safe environments.
Absolutely. We partner exclusively with professional, vetted studio spaces — secure entry, supervised facilities, and no unsupervised access for anyone other than registered students and approved instructors. Parents are always welcome to check in with us at any point.
Not at all. All of our classes are designed to meet kids where they are. Whether your child has never stepped on a stage or has been performing for years, there's a class that's right for them. No audition required.
We have two tracks: Young Performers (ages 6–10) and Young Actors (ages 11–15). Both are available in-person in Austin, San Francisco, and Los Angeles, and online for anyone anywhere.
Every class is taught by a working professional actor — someone with real credits who is actively performing. Not a drama teacher, not a studio assistant. We believe kids learn best from people who are living the craft right now.
A showreel is a short video of your child performing — the standard tool agents, casting directors, and managers use to evaluate young actors. Every student at Acting Camp finishes with one. It's professionally shot and edited, and it's theirs to keep and submit for real auditions.
Our Young Actors classes include guest sessions with industry professionals — casting directors, managers, and working actors. Kids get to perform in front of them, ask questions, and make real connections. We'll always give advance notice so families can prepare.
You can email us at hello@acting.camp and we'll help you find the right class and get your child registered. Online registration is also available directly on this page.
We keep classes small — typically 8–12 students — so every kid gets real attention and time to perform, not just watch from the back of the room.
Yes! Acting Camp is a program run by Film Camp. We share the same philosophy about creative education for kids — we just focus on the performance side of storytelling.
We offer a 10% sibling discount when two or more kids from the same family enroll. We also offer limited financial assistance — just reach out and ask, no awkwardness required.

Serious Training.
Seriously Fun.

Acting Camp was built on a simple idea: kids deserve access to the same caliber of instruction that adults pay thousands for. So we hire working actors — people with real credits and real careers — and put them in front of small groups of kids who are ready to learn.

We run in Austin, San Francisco, and Los Angeles, and online. Every student walks out with a showreel. Older students get face time with casting directors and managers. That's not a perk — it's the point.
